Tim Voss > Wooden Passenger Coach, Jackson Street Roundhouse; Saint Paul, Minnesota

There's a weedy, almost abandoned, part of the Jackson Street Roundhouse yard. It's where the rotting and rusting rolling stock and motive power ends up. The wooden passenger coach in this image is rapidly succumbing to spores. It's not something you'd want to climb on...
Tim Voss > Blue Bottle Top

I have a small collection of antique bottles that came from my mother and a grandmother. This is one of them. Light came from my light box.
Tim Voss > Fuel Oil Tanks in Black and White; Minneapolis, Minnesota

A nice industrial looking scene at night.
Tim Voss > Neighborhood at Night; Minneapolis, Minnesota

I've lived in Minneapolis for nearly three decades and there are still a lot of places I haven't visited. I stumbled upon this neighborhood when I followed a whim and went straight instead of turning. It fronts the interchange between the I35W and I94 freeways. There are some lovely old apartment buildings here that require daylight to appreciate. The wooden wall is a noise barrier to block some of the freeway din.
Tim Voss > Frost Smoke and the Ship Canal Piers; Duluth, Minnesota

Frost smoke is caused by cold dry winter air flowing over much warmer water. In this instance, the water was close to freezing, while the air temperature was minus twenty Fahrenheit.
Tim Voss > Mushrooms on Black

Three button and two shiitaki mushrooms on black velvet. Lighting came from a living room window.
Tim Voss > Lake Boats in Lay-up; Superior Wisconsin

Such is the economy that some Lakers never came out of winter lay-up this spring. The American Victory (background, far left) and the Kaye E. Barker (right) are still moored at the Fraser Shipyards. They're both beginning to look a little scabrous.
Tim Voss > Amity Creek; Duluth Minnesota

Here's another one from a Duluth trip in June of '08. Don't know why I didn't put it up the first go around...
Tim Voss > Woman and Bike in Heavy Snow; Minneapolis, Minnesota

Lots of folks don't want to have their photo taken by a stranger. This woman didn't object at all. In fact, she hammed it up a little bit.
