Tim Voss > Rainy Night, BNSF Railroad Bridge 2; Minneapolis, Minnesota

There's a bit of history behind this bridge. The first span at this location was built in 1867 by the St. Paul and Pacific Railroad. (The StP&P ultimately became the Great Northern Railroad.) The Great Northern replaced that bridge in 1893, then improved it 1926. The GN modified the bridge with this truss in 1963. I have several other views of this bridge with trains. This image is looking south from Nicollet Island toward downtown.
Tim Voss > Night Rain; Minneapolis, Minnesota

Sometimes a photo is real close to home. I took this one from my balcony. And I was grateful that I hadn't gone looking for night shots. I like shooting in bad weather, but photography at night and in a downpour would be a bit much.

Tim Voss > January Twilight: Saint Paul and Ramsey County Courthouse; Saint Paul, Minnesota

The Ramsey County Courthouse was completed in 1932. The original tower is a perfect example of American Art Deco. This is a splendid building inside and out. I hope to get some interior photos at some point. The steam plume comes from the District Heating Plant. And yes, it takes a cold evening to get a good steam plume.

Another view of Decorah.
Tim Voss > Oliver

Oliver Tickletummy came to live with me in 2005. We've had an odd relationship since then, but we make do.
Tim Voss > Kristen; Alma, Wisconsin

A bit of play on this one. The shot needed a person, so I dragooned Kristen and her espresso to pose. She cooperated, despite the cold wind, but it seemed best to make it a very short session. The photo was taken in the Italian garden behind Fire and Ice, a coffeehouse in Alma, Wisconsin.
Tim Voss > Wayne Working on a Sketch; Stockholm, Wisconsin

Wayne is a landscape and portrait painter. We've been buddies for well north of twenty years. Every so often we take a day-long or a week-long trip to make art together.
Tim Voss > Reading Glasses and Shadows

The sun was streaming through a window this morning onto a napkin and my reading glasses. The shadows, refraction, and textures caught my fancy.
