Tim Voss > Winter Geometry, Gold Medal Park; Minneapolis, Minnesota

Gold Medal Park consists of eight acres and a tall man-made hill on the east side of the Mill District. A walkway spirals around the hill. It creates an interesting effect best seen from the air. This is my land-bound view taken on a dark and very snowy morning.
Tim Voss > Heavy Snow, Gold Medal Park; Minneapolis, Minnesota

The Stone Arch Bridge and Pillsbury "A" Mill are just visible in the right background.
Tim Voss > Tenement Fire Escapes; Minneapolis, Minnesota

This old and rather rundown apartment building near the University of Minnesota has always intrigued me. I thought that the new snow highlighted the fire escapes nicely.
Tim Voss > Early Snow and Stone Foundation; Minneapolis, Minnesota

Woke up to an inch or so of new snow today and I went out for a little while. This is part of a collapsing stone wall. The metal object is a mystery.
Tim Voss > Entrance Sign, Mill City Museum; Minneapolis, Minneosta
Tim Voss > Frank Gehry's "Standing Glass Fish," Cowles Conservatory; Minneapolis, Minnesota

This sculpture is pure fun!
Tim Voss > New Snow on Christmas Day, Minnehaha Creek; Minneapolis, Minnesota

A few inches of fresh wet snow, no wind, and a lot of happy people and dogs by Minnehaha Creek made for a wonderful Christmas Day afternoon.

Tim Voss > New Snow on Christmas Day, Lyndale Tunnel and Minnehaha Creek; Minneapolis, Minnesota

I was setting up the tripod and looked up to find a mom, dad, two kids and two dogs waiting patiently for me to get the photo. Thank you, and Merry Christmas, I said!
Tim Voss > A Walk in the Snow, Minnehaha Creek; Minneapolis, Minnesota
Tim Voss > The Soap Factory on New Year's Day, 2008; Minneapolis, Minnesota

What better way to spend a frigid New Year's Day afternoon than taking a few photos? And yes, this building began life as a soap factory. It was one of many mills and plants in the Mill District. Now it's an art gallery and an occasional small theatre.
