Mississippi River Towns : There are a lot of towns, large and small, along the upper reaches of the Mississippi River in Minnesota, Wisconsin, and Iowa. I've grown to like most of these places, so I thought I'd share some sense of place and a bit of history from a few of them. New images will arrive as time and money permit.

Bluff Country : The tourism folks call this part of the world Bluff Country for obvious reasons. The bluffs range from hundreds of feet above the Mississippi River to much smaller ones along tributary streams like the Upper Iowa and Root Rivers. I call it a beautiful place. And there's a lot of history, especially in the old river towns.
